21 Dec Color trends in web design in 2017

Not so long ago we wrote about trends in web design for 2017. Many of them – the legacy of this year, but there were also some innovations that should not be ignored. Today we want to talk about color as one of the key trends in visual design. What solutions, color combinations, and very soon will come to the main positions?

  • Using a single color

The love for minimalism with the development of the site becomes inextricably linked with the choice of a color scheme. Designers are beginning to avoid the cross-use of contrasting colors, stopping on one attention, but the bright color.

One color, combined with a minimalistic design that visually easier to perceive and keep the attention on him, and throughout the site as a whole. The more you use the more extensive range of colors – the less likely it is that the user does not ache from your eyes, “rainbow”, and he did not hasten to leave your site.

  • Play with contrasts

If the first trend shows that many contrasting colors for the site – it is bad, the one that will be able to emphasize the theme or title, is quite acceptable.

For example, designers from Studio Stylistic used a combination of turquoise and black background, thus creating the effect of a determined pattern. Turquoise can be found in key words and logo. This color is noticeably emphasizes graphic elements to stand out against the black site design.

This trend follows the rule to the contrary: a contrasting color and minimalism help to improve user interaction with the site.

  • Colour as a means of navigation

Sort by color will be relevant to sites filled with content. This will simplify the search and makes it easier to navigate in a variety of topics.

A good example of this trend has now become a well-known site of Coloured Lines. Its designers have solved the problem of filling the extensive, based on the brand name. The design uses the whole range of the rainbow for the separation of an eight site to headings.

Of course, on the desktop, it looks a little strange, but in the mobile versions of the site (which increasingly began to prefer), all the details look very harmonious, and do not cause an imbalance.

  • Texture

Texture becomes necessary to complement the neutral background site. But to try out all the advantages, try to use it with a bright shade. The texture will give him the necessary softness and enhance the aesthetic value of graphics content.

Site Joyride Taco House mobilized texture to create the interface. Designers chose the shade for capitalization, thus adding depth to them, and the blue bars in the logo enhance its expressiveness. Widespread texture helps to emphasize the visual idea of the site, without, at the same time, the attention of the shape nor from content.

  •  Color accents text

Based on the preceding, it is important to note that the main trend in 2017 will be a combination of bright colors with different details.

A trend in the accent color of the text suggests that it is quite possible (in fact, it is important) to highlight key phrases or text as a whole, especially in the dim background. A vibrant color palette will positively affect the user’s attention and perception of the whole site.

Website For the Love of the Reef approached the issue creatively and yellow highlighted the main thing for them the word – love. This is a good move, since the button is responsible for the response (action) of the same color. With this admission, the creators of the site skillfully connect user activity with the theme of the site is not distracting him at the side of the button to a different color scheme.

  • Color and UI elements

Bright colors are also good to optimize the usability. They immediately draw the attention of both the buttons and the UI elements.

Site Mijlo, for example, chose orange for the action buttons, contrasting markedly with a light background and brown text. Thus, developers were able to emphasize the importance of detail, cut “painful search” and, of course, improve the user experience with the site.

Site Hega works on the same principle as the previous one, but here the designers took as the basis of three classic colors, giving primacy red. This color works instantly on the result: people immediately draw attention to it and go to work actively with the site.
