03 Jun New Apple Store in San Francisco

Architects Foster + Partners project implemented a new store Apple Union Square in San Francisco, USA. Its innovative design demonstrates a higher degree of openness and transparency, as well as new opportunities in realization of the goods and services of the company.

This store will be an example for future Apple projects worldwide. In addition to creating a shop architects together with Apple team managed to give the city a new recreation area, to erase the boundaries between internal and external spaces. The store is located on a busy Union Square, and its glass walls easily combine it with a quiet park. Here tables and chairs, there are Wi-Fi, a waterfall and lots of greenery – is not an ideal place for an urban community? Taking advantage of a favorable climate, the store installed glass doors to facilitate natural ventilation.

Furthermore, Apple store is 100 percent powered by renewable energy sources, including 130 photovoltaic panels integrated into the roof of the building. The ceiling is also worthy of special attention, because during the day it seems a simple opaque surface, but gradually turned on and fills the space with light.
